Have you ever had that sinking feeling when someone asks you, “tell me about yourself?” – and you don’t know what to say? Yeah, me too. I’m a complex person, and heck, we’re all complex people, and that’s probably why most of us have had this experience of not knowing what to say.
But, I’ll say something anyway to get us started, and you can read along in the blog to find out more. My name is Louise. When I was a kid I used to draw almost constantly, and as I grew up, I drifted further and further away from my art. I drifted so far away, in fact, that after I finished grad school in mechanical engineering and had this strong feeling that I was missing something important in my life, it literally took me years to pinpoint what it was. And ever since I came back to making art, I haven’t had that feeling that I’m missing some unidentified thing anymore. Now I know what it is.
So as you can imagine, I didn’t go to art school and don’t have a fancy MFA or anything like that. I’m fine with that. I’m a big fan of constantly working to educate myself, find ways to learn new things and practice new skills, whether or not these are at a formal institution or through self-training. Whatever works. What matters to me is that I’m constantly striving to become a better person, and to find what it is that I’m meant to do with my life.
If this also sounds like you, I can’t wait to meet you!
